fairies. When people came into a corpse house the members of the family got up and went over to the corpse crying. This crying was more like singing and people were praised for being good 'Caoiners' This crying was like the crying of the Ban-a-shie which is a little woman that comes crying when a person is dying. It only follows certain families. A person is never sent out alone at night for the priest as the devil is said to follow them and try to prevent them from bringing the priest to the patient.
