  1. A few years ago there lived in a big house in Primrose Hill an old man. He was an old Protestant and his wife was dead. He had nobody to look after him and he did all the work of the house.
    He was a very rich old man and some people said that he was a miser. He soon got tired of working in the house, and he got two girls to stay in the house with him and do the work.
    One night however somebody came into the study in which he was reading and murdered him. A few nights after the man died the two maids went to bed and one
