  1. There are many forges in my district and a smith in each one. There is a forge near my own house and it is a man called Pat Walsh who own's it. This man is better known as Barrett Walsh. Pat Walsh learned the trade from his father who came from Limerick and built a little house opposite Gallaghers the half-way house between Ballina and Killala. This man is a very good smith and his forge is by main road. His forge is a very respectable one and is roofed with tin.
