    Conn. Your messenger is sound asleep for I can hear his snore, and the witch is coming near for I can hear her breathing very hard. The pin of slumber is in his hair, said the little red man, and none of us here can a waken him except the Man of the Straight Aim. This person now came forward and taking an arrow out of his pocket, he took aim and fired. He struck the pin of slumber on his head, and knocked it right out of the sleeping man's hair. In an instant the man of the swift leg was awake. He saw the empty bottle, and did not see the witch, so he knew that she had played her magic on him. However he jumped up, took up his bottle and hurried back to the well. The man of the listening ear was still keeping his ear close to the ground. He spoke again to Conn. "Your messenger", is now awake, and is making great speed going back to the well, but if he made ten times as great speed the witch will be here sooner than him as she is very near. Conn was almost frantic on hearing this. "Come, said the little red man to the man of the strong breath, try can you do anything". So the man of the strong breath cleared them all away from him, and inhaling
