  1. There was a man from Kilcummin Lacken he is supposed to be a man the name of Hudges, but is not rightly known, he was fighting with England against some foreign power. Every man on his turn used have to stay on night duty at this certain place but it was remarkable that every Catholic man who stayed on duty were always found dead in the morning, and the Protestants used never be killed.
    So one night this man from Kilcummin had to stay on duty. So he brought his gun and spear with him. When it got late in the night he heard a great noise and the next thing he seen was something strange coming towards him. It was small at first but according as he was coming near the thing was getting bigger and bigger until it was a
