  1. There are five spinning wheels in our district. But only three working . There was a family named Collins in Carrowantransa, Carrowan Lacken that were able to mend spinning wheels. But the father of the family died about two years ago and his son took up his position but he died last year, his name was Pat Collins he was only twenty years of age and he was able to make a spinning wheel in two days. There is no one in the surrounding parishes able to fix his wheels at present. Long ago the women used to start
