A Burn:-
If you get a burn to warm it the fire, immediately after it being burned, or to rub soda or soap of it, it would knock the pain out of it.
A Cut:-
To rub salt into a cut, it would make it better. - long ago a crowd used to gather in Kilcummin, Lacken on the last Sunday of July to St. Cummin's well which is situated in Church Village. They gather there still, but the custom is dying away year by year.
