  1. We have a horse at home. His name is Bob. He is very quiet. He was foaled by our own mare. When he was a foal he used to lift up his foot, and put it into our hand.
    When he was two years old he was put into a stable to be trained. The first time he was haltered, he was very quiet. He walked away with it. After a while there was a bridle put on him. It used to be left on him in the stable, a while each day.
    Then he was brought to the forge, and four shoes were put on him. The blacksmith made the four shoes out of a long bar of light horseshoe iron. He bored seven holes in each shoe for seven nails to go into them. The shoe is round to the front, and opened at the heel.
    He used to be exercised in a ring, he had to be followed by a man. After a
