  1. There was a very skilled Shoe-Maker in this Locality some years ago. His name was Michael McDonnell. He was from the parish of Kilfian. When he was a little boy he was very fond of playing on a large rock in Ballysalagh. He could perform actions on this rock that no other boy could perform.
    One day as he was tumbling and tossing on this rock Colonel Arme passed by. He stood and admired the little boy's feats. It is thought the Colonel "overlooked" him, for when he tried to walk he could not. He was left in a stooped position. Soon after his father came and took him home.
    There was a very pious priest in Kilfian called Fr. Pat McDonnell. He could almost perform miracles. People who were at the Doors of Death.
