    He made mats also with bent. First he plaited the bent together in plaits about one inch wide. Then wen he had a number of them made he sewd them together with hemp.

  2. Palmerstown House is a beautiful two storey residence situated about three miles from Killala. It stands on a hill overlooking the Public road and Palmerstown River. The outside walls are covered with ivy. In the Autumn the iv turns from green to a beautiful red colour. It is lovely to see the sun peeping out among the beautiful pine trees.
    The Knoxes reside there now. Once a lady called Mary Browne lived there. She was a native of Dublin.
