  1. There are about four forges in this district, one in Killala, one in Foghill, and one in Carratrasna.
    Mr. Hughs owns the owns the one in Killala. He is a very good smith he can make beautiful gates. He made the entrance gates into Killala Catholic Church. He can also make scuffles, shoe horses, and make all sorts of impliments.
    His father was a smith and owned a smith, he owned a forge in Mullafarry. He spent a good deal of his time in Africia at the time of the Boer War.
