    There is supposed to e a ghost at the white gates on the Killala road.

    There is supposed to be a ghost at the white gates on the Killala road. In olden times the people of Rathlacken used to go in crowds to the town as they were in dread to go alone.
    As there were no carts they used to bring the sacks of oats on the asés back. They used to bring creels and straddles. When coming home a lot of them used to be together.
    There was one man in their midst who seemed to be a great soldier and began to shout. "If there is a ghost" he said, now is the time for him appear." Without anyone of them seeing what
