  1. Long ago the people believed in fairies. When a woman was milking the cow she let a few drops of milk on the ground for the fairies and when she had finished milking she made the sign of the cross on the cowside.
    There is a story told about a girl who was working in a Protestant man's house. She used to let a drop of milk on the ground when milking the cow. The man of the house would not allow this.
    When the girl used to have finished milking the cow, the man used to see was there any milk on the ground. One evening he went
