There are many foxes through the Country at the present time, especially in the woods.
Several attempts were made to kill them but failed as foxes are very cute. When there is a hunt the hunters very often catch them.
There are foxes' dens in several places throughout the Country. There is one in Mr. J. O'Hara's land Palmerstown, Killala, one in Castle Rea, Killala, one in an island outside Cartoon, and one in Ross, Killala. There is a cure for Whooping Cough on a foxes' tongue.
