    When putting them down. Some people tied bags around their shoulders to carry the slits. It was the most suitable way. Then they had a stick pointed at one end and about a foot up from the point they had a bit of iron driven into the stick as a step to leave their foot up on. To bring pressure upon the stick to drive it into the ground to make the hole.
