  1. before the famine the the people lived chiefly on potatoes and they made bread out of them.
    The bread was called "Boxty Bread". The way they used to make it. They used to get six or seven large potatoes and wash them and dry them well.
    Then they used to peel them. When the potatoes were peeled. They used to get a grater and scrape the potatoes. A grater is a piece of tin with holes in it.
    It is nailed to a board. Then they mashed up the potatoes. They used to put flour in with the potatoes and put it on a
