  1. John Tape O Dowd lived in Castleconnor.
    He was 7'4" in height and the Tape Mountains were called after him.
    His father saw a mermaid combing her hair on the short. He snapped the cover off her and hit it. She couldn't return to the sea without it, so she married the man. She had two or three children. The cover was hidden in a stack of oats. The father used to hide it in different places. one of the children saw him putting it in the oats and told its mother. She got the cover and returned to the sea. She used to come on shore and comb the children's hair.
