    There was a hedge school in Keerlan. Corcoran known as Seán an oighre taught there.
    There was one at Athys, near Annaghmore school. John McAndrew of Glenedagh taught in it.
    Poet Houston a school master in Laherdane had a basket of boiled potatoes on the table before him. He slapped a boy and the boy flung a potato at him.
    Brown bread used to be divided in a school in Lahardane. One little boy, who wore a good suit, used to get none. He snapped a loaf one day and ran away and the master chased him. Burke of Carrowkeel met them and ordered
