  1. Procure one pint of earth-worms (of the red type) by digging before sunrise.
    Place them - unwashed - in a pint of fresh new-milk, milked the same morning. Simmer slowly until reduced to half. Strain and drink fasting.
    This is to be repeated for three mornings. During this time nothing but milk foods loaf (bakers) bread and milk is to be taken.
    On the fourth, fifth and sixth mornings a dose of Epsom salt is to be taken and only milk foods still on those days.
