  1. It is believed locally that a fox can take a thorn out of any part of his own body by licking the part affected with his tongue.
    It is also believed that if any person licks the tongue of a live fox with his own tongue that the person also will have the power of removing thorns by the application of his tongue to the part affected.
    Anthony Kearney of Steelaun (now an old age pensioner) has this power. If anybody has a thorn in any part of his body and it is difficult to remove with a pin or a needle he goes to old Anthony who just rubs his
