  1. A Local Dye
    On the fences along the seashore in Castlemagee there grows a sort of moss called caoiseac na gcloch [?].
    When it is growing its colour is greyish. People around this place use it for colouring wools.
    At first they pull it and take it home. Then they put it down on the fire with water for one hour and boil it into yellow juice. (They put the garment and) after that they take it up and put the garment into the juice. They put the garment and juice on the fire again and let it boil until the garment gets a rich brown colour. This colour never fades no matter what washing it gets.
