  1. The "Black Stones" of Lacken Strand
    Long ago there lived a Colonel in Castlelacken. He had a large demesne, and it adjoined the strand. The people of Kilcummin used to go across the strand to Mass as they do still, and they used to go in on the Colonels land to put on their boots. One day the Colonel said to his servants that they would have to put a wall on the land to keep the people off it on Sundays. So one day he gathered his servants and ordered them to build the wall. They did so and shortly after the wall was completed.
    Sometime after the Colonels servants were gathering in the harvest in his yarn. When they saw three great big waves coming
