    The principle family of landlords in this district were the Knoxes.
    There were other landlords who ruled different parts of the place.
    The last landlady of this townland was Miss Fibbs and before her Colonel Fibbs, her father and their agents were the Leonards from Ballycastle those who collected the tithes. Another strange man lived in Carrowmore. He was known as McAvey and is thought to have been the Fibbs bailiff.
