  1. About seventy or eighty years ago there was a treasure found in Carrowtrasna, Lacken. It was Tom Duffy's father (Henry Duffy) who found it.
He was digging around an old fort and he found a jug and a few spars of gold down in the ground.
He went to Ballina to sell it, and it was bought from him. The man who bought it from him was called Muffny and he got as much money for it as made him rich for his life but it is said that he only got half the price of it.
