  1. 13. About eighty years ago a ship was wrecked west of Downpatrick Head, Ballycastle, Co. Mayo. There is a rock called Leac na Luinge. The captain and two sailors were saved.

  2. 14. About sixty years ago ship went in on the strand at Lacken Co. Mayo. It had a cargo of timber. It was Sunday and the people were coming from mass. They went out in a boat and brought in the sailors. Then they robbed the ship. The captain and most of the sailors were Italians.
