- Bobby Chuileóg
Bobby Chuileóg was a small woman. She wore a shawl on her head. She wore no shoe in winter or Summer. Her feet were swollen. She was going around begging from house to house. She used to say "It was not right an ass to bray." The people gave her lodgings. She used be thankful to them.
- Biddy Duffy
There was a beggar woman named Biddy Duffy and she used lodge in certain houses. She died in one of the houses she was lodged in. [told by Ml. Kearney, Carrowmeda, Ballycastle Mayo] - Bantry
There was another beggar woman travelling around, and she was called Bantry. She was very cross. If anyone would say anything to her, she would follow them. She did not like to see any dog or cat. No one liked to give her lodgings because she was very cross. She was fairly old(continues on next page) - Informant
