- (continued from previous page)it out and cut in small pieces. Then he put the pieces of iron in the fire again, and after that he shaped them into nails.
- In olden times, people made all the thread themselves. Two cards were made out of timber, and small pieces of wire were put in the cards. Then the people sheared all the wool off their own sheep. Then they cleaned the wool with oil, and when they had that done, they put a small piece of wool on one of the cards, and then the other card was rubbed to the card with the wool on it. That was done until the piece of wool had the shape of a candle. The people made a large number of them and they were called rolls.
