  1. Long ago the fishermen of Killerduff were building a new boat for fishing Salmon. One night when they had the boat nearly completed, there appeared to them a woman, who addressed them saying:- "The first twelve men who go out fishing in that boat will be drowned". The fishermen thought she was mad and paid no attention to her. They continued at their work and finished the boat a few days later. Shortly afterwards they took the boat on its maiden voyage. Everything went well, and the men were very satisfied with the trip, and considered their craft very sea-worthy. Some few nights after they decided to go out Salmon fishing and strangely enough twelve men turned up to go, some of them who were at the building of the boat the night the woman appeared and mentioned that twelve would be drowned
