  1. During the last century the local landlords were named Gadiner. When the passed away a relative Miss Pringle became the last landlord. Some of the land was divided between families in their day is still in "Rundale". There are many sad tales told of the harsh treatment meted to tenants in those days.
    They got notice to quit, (if they appeared at prosperous) as if some favourite usually an underling of the landlord envied their prosperity.
    The rents would not be accepted and many got terms of imprisment for not clearing out immediately. So that the result of hard work and industry generally went
