    Speculating most curiously
    To my surprise I soon espied
    A charming fair one approaching me.
    I stood awhile in deep meditation
    Contemplating what I should do
    But recreating all my sensations
    I thus accosted the Cailín Ruadh.

    Are you Aurora or the beauteous Flora
    The impersonation of Venus bright
    Or Helen fair beyond compare
    That Paris stole from the Grecian knight
    Oh! fairest creature thou hast enslaved me
    By Cupid's clew whose golden notes

    By your false praises so greetingly
    Say your disseminations and invocations
    Your fantastic praises seducing me
    I am not Aurora, nor the Godess Flora
