  1. In olden times people got cures from local people instead of going to doctors. It is said that the seventh son of a family has a cure for ring worm. The old people used to say that if they found a stone boiled in a pot of potatoes it would cure toothache.
    There was also a cure for thrush in a white gander.
    The food that a ferret leaves behind him is supposed to cure the whooping cough. The holy well Killgeever is supposed to cure different ailments such as sciatica and sickness.
    The herb known as the "rosendle" was used for poultices long ago.
