  1. After Ossian's return from Tir-Na-Noge, Saint Patrick taught him all about the true faith.
    Now there lived a very old but rich man near Ossian's home. This man owned a very big farm. He had eight sons and three daughters; the sons worked on the farm and the girls did the housework. If anyone came seeking employment to this man he would put him in prison for three months.
    One day as Ossian and four other men were out walking together the men said to Ossian that they would give him a half gallon of beer to drink if he would go to the rich man's house and ask for employment. Ossian said he would do that.
    He went up to the door and asked for admittance. One of the girls came out to him; he said to her that he wanted employment.
    She told him the punishment he would get if she told that to her father. Ossian then asked could he have a talk to her father about it. She then went in to her father and told
