    Grandmother Grey is played in the following way. The children gather together, they select one who represents the grandmother. She sits down and the other people repeat this rhyme.
    Grandmother grey will you let me out to play?
    I won't go near the river or hunt the ducks away.
    Then the child who represents the grandmother says "No" : The children repeat it over and over until the grandmother gives her consent. Then the children play about. they pretend they are hunting away the ducks
