  1. The big Storm
    There was a big storm about one hundred years ago. It lasted for about one day and one night or so. It did a good lot of harm to the people that were living around this part of the country.
    It knocked down trees and stacks of oats and hay. It knocked down some trees that were growing along the side of the road. Whenever a tree fell across the road the men of the place had to go out and cut up the tree, and take it off the road. It also brought away the thatch off houses. The people of this place were very busy throwing stable manure
