  1. Long ago Glenree was a vast wood owned by a man named Roland and he had great herds of cattle grazing on it.
    When snow came, it covered up the tops of the trees, so that Roland's cattle could walk above the highest branches.
    It happened that a great snow came and one of Roland's bullocks was lost.
    When the snow melted the bullock was found hanging to the branches of the trees by his great horns.
    The horns were cut off and used for blowing
