  1. Not many years ago there lived in Attymass an old woman who was supposed to be a witch.
This so called witch had magix power which she often used.
We are told that she used to turn herself into a hare. In that form she used to go and take the milk from all the cows of the parish.
The people were all very much upset at this and they tried hounds of every description but none of them could kill her except a black dog without white hair.
They searched a few parishes and at last found a dog who when he was hunted on her, tore a piece out of her foot.
She did but before she died she turned her own shape. The people lived in peace after this.
