    The wren, the wren the king of all birds,
    On St. Stephen's Day he was caught in the furze
    Up with the kettle and down with the pan
    Give me my answer and let me begone.
    They get apples, buns and pennies from the people.
    The 6th January is the last day of Christmas. A goose is and was killed, for the dinner. The people always marked out Christmas as the most important feast of the year, because it is the anniversary of Our Lord's birth.
