    up and knocked on the door and a little grey man came out, and he said, “You are welcome king’s son from the north of Persia.” “How do you know I am from Persia?” “Because if you were not, those animals would devour you.” “Are you troubled?” he said. “I am; my stepmother said that she would behead me if I could not get some fruits from the Garden of Maidens” said Jack.
    “Well I never heard of that place but if you wait for one night, I will look over my books and see if it is there.”
    In the morning he told him that he never heard of that place but, he had a brother who ruled over all the birds in the air and over all the fishes in the flood, and if he, did not know, no one in the world knew.
    “Here is a ball of yarn, and keep winding it up, and when you have finished you are at his house.”
