    above all things to keep his promise and his mother the Queen was much surprised at his strange behaviour that she felt broken hearted, and his father the King took him into his royal sitting room to have an interview with him and to get an account of his adventures. As the young Prince seated himself beside his father the King and was about to tell him all his adventures, up sprang a little pet dog thet had been his playmate and splashed his tongue across his lips in the nature of a kiss with the result that he forgot all his adventures and worst of all his beloved Princess. So that was the fate of the poor Prince.
    But there still remains one hope which you shall hear later.
