    All happened as before. As the day was departing and the night approaching he saw at a distance a magnificent Castle and as he drew nearer there stood at the door a woman of giant size. He gave her a royal salute and bade her good evening. As she returned the salute she made this remark: “A pity you, O King’s Son from Erin! You have left a happy land and have come to a lonely land. When the huge monster of the two skulls comes home he will eat you up at one mouthful.”
    “Ah”! replied the Prince, “he might have pity on a poor unfortunate man like me”.
    It was not long until the forest began to shake with the weight of the huge monster returning. When he took scent of the Irish blood he shouted:
    “Fee-fo-foo-fan,
    I smell the blood of an Irishman.
    Be he alive or be he dead
    I’ll grind his bones to make me bread.”
