    There are only two forges in this district. Joseph Ginty is the owner of the forge in the townland of Bole Boy, and Patrick Melvin is the blacksmith in Dunmaynor. The blacksmith and the forge are often mentioned in Irish History and they go back to the time of Connor Mac Nessa and even to the time of our Lord.
