Some believe that the St Lasair after whom this parish named was a daughter of St Ronan's.

Some believe that the St Lasair after whom this parish named was a daughter of St Ronan's. St Dymphna was another daughter of St Ronan's. It is believed that St Ronan after his wife's death became a priest.
This same St Lasair built a church in Cill Ronan, Co Roscommon to commerate the name of her father St Ronan. Convenient to Cill Ronan Co Roscommon you have St Iasiar's well. In the same county you have Killaster which is supposed to have the same origin.
