  1. The ruins of St Lasair's church are to be found in the old graveyard in Killasser. It is said St Lasair came from Meath to preach christianity in this district shortly after the time of Patrick.
    Some people say St Fechin built the church in honour of his mother St Lasair.
    Others say Lasair Ruane who was patron St of Killasser joined a foreign army when he was a young man. After returning home he was unable to recognise his daughter and unfortunately married her.
