  1. One night my father and a man named John Mc.Gowan were in Foxford. They were about to go home when John Mc.Gowan said that he had business to do and told my father to keep going away that he would catch him soon. My father went away and now and again he would wait a while to see if John were coming. However he did not come and my father said he would be going home. When he came up near Cloongee Crossroads he saw a man with a grey suit and a black hat with his back turned to the road. My father said, "Good Night" but he never answered. Then John Mc.Gowan caught up to him and when they turned in the Cloongee Crossroads John Mc.Gowan frightened and ran in the road. My father caught him him and asked him what was wrong with him. He said that the wall opened and a big black cat went in. When they were in near the school they were struck with a shovel of sand on the back. This happened about twenty years ago.
