  1. Boxty-bread is still in use, and is made in October, after or during the digging of the potatoes.
    How it is made:- potatoes washed and peeled and then scraped. Put flour and salt and make a dough of the whole thing. Bake it flat on the pan. Hardly ever made except for a "meitheall" (lucht oibre)
    Cáca-garbh - bread from Indian-meal; not much used now; people seem to think any form of meal-cake is not good enough or rather 'grand' enough.
