  1. It is an old belief that when the religious war comes Columkille told in a prophecy nobody will be saved but those who are between Fross Mor and Fross Beag.

  2. It is prophesied that some time a boat load will be drowned where Ballinacurra bridge is now. Note Ballinacurra may owe its name to the fact that a curragh or ferry boat was once used to carry people across the river when the water covered the stepping stones. A similar boat was used over the river at Cloonacannana and at Cloonlumney.
