  2. Machaire - Buidhe means the yellow plain. Long ago the people used to sow a lot of oats and the fields used to look yellow. There used to be yellow flowers growing along the river also. The flowers could be seen plain because the land was very level. That is the reason the village was called Machaire - Buidhe.
