    Twas on a Sunday evening.

    'Twas on a Sunday evening,
    Not very long ago,
    There was a dance reported
    For the village of Cultibo.
    2.
    We went through the woodfield road,
    For the night being like the day,
    Till we came to Andrew Flaherty's
    And we headed for Derryea.
    3.
    We inquired for Black-Bird money,
    And tis this we quickly found
    Our boys they sought us out
    As keen as any hound.
    4.
    We all got bread and butter.
    And we needed it as you know
    For tis a long and tiresome journey
    To the village of Cultibo.

    When ten o'clock was over
