  1. one day my grandfather went to Foxford to the fair. When he was coming home it was awfully dark and he very nearly got lost. He came all right until he reached the shop in Carragolda.
He was very tired and he said he would go across the fields and make a near way home.
He was not gone far up the fields when he heard a lot of people laughing.
He went on until he jumped across a fence finding himself in the middle of a big wood.
He did not know where he was and he started whistling. No one heard him.
