  1. Long ago there was a fair in nearly every village. There is no rath, castle or Church near the fair-greens in this district.
    The fairs were a lot more numerous long ago than now, but the trade in cattle has come down since then. Buyers came from all parts and went from house to house buying stock.
    A toll or custom is paid on every animal sold. The custom of the animals is given to the man who looks after the fairgreen and it is
